After seeing a number of posts on the LF/GT Facebook page regarding live and rare stuff and finding out that some of my old links no longer work, I've put this post together which rounds up all my stuff in one place.
It's all yours.
Some of the files are missing basic information - venues, exact dates etc. Any updates will be gratefully recieved. Some of the files will only be available for 14 days, but I'm looking for a more permanent home for them.
I scooped these recordings up from a variety of sources, but most of the live recordings can be traced back to "Photo" Robert Toren. I'm indebted to Oxy, Don Valentine, Mick, Lunchboy and numerous subscribers to Dimeadozen for the rest. A sincere thank you to you all.
All the Game Theory albums have beenre-issued beautifully by the amazing Omnivore label

A huge thank you to Lunchboy for digging around in the dusty recesses of an abandoned hard drive and plucking these last remaining beauties from the void. As far as I know, this completes the set of files posted by Sue Trowbridge on loudfamily.com. It's Lunchboys' link to a Filefactory file. The trick is to click 'Slow download' and uncheck the box which says something like 'use Filefactory downloader'. Thanks again Lunchboy and also to Jen Grover who also raided her archives for the MP3s.

Thanks Rushbo. It's a very well-rounded tribute to a musical genius.
ReplyDeleteI assume links for some of the shows posted without them are still to come?
Yeah, there's about four more files to add - I'll do two more tonight and the rest tomorrow. I hope everyone enjoys them.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing these! RIP, Scott. Peace and strength to his loved ones.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for assembling these! One very minor correction -- The Christmas 1989 Fan Club Cassette you've labeled in this post is actually 1990. It's correct in the original post.
ReplyDeleteCheers Wobblymusic - the info has been corrected. I've also added a load of detail to the 'Diginoise' compilations, if you're interested.....
ReplyDeleteI may have Scott's "Fairest of the Seasons" cover on an old hard drive somewhere, and possibly some of the other tracks? I'll see if I can find them. Hopefully they were some of the things I actually backed up before that computer died.
ReplyDeleteLunchboy, that would be outstanding! The Nico cover is beautiful and I was particularly saddened to have lost that one. The Miller/Kessel version of 'Paranoid' however is...challenging...
ReplyDeleteFrustratingly, so far I can only find a handful of tracks, and none of them are ones that you're missing. I'm as disappointed as you are -- I loved that Nico cover too! I'll keep looking, though. I've also burned some data CDs of old mp3s over the years and they might be on one of those. If not, maybe Sue has copies somewhere and will be able to post more archival music to the Loud Family site at some point. Fingers crossed. Losing Scott and his future music is bad enough without losing the music we were lucky enough to have had already.

ReplyDeleteSuccess! Here's a link to everything I had that I didn't see listed among the Diginoise tracks:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.filefactory.com/file/1j98vfrkf9ll/n/Missing_Loud_Family_rarities_zip
The live tracks may very well be duplicated somewhere in the concerts you have available; don't know. And the outtake version of "Total Mass Destruction" sounds very similar to the version that ended up on "What If It Works?". Not sure if it's the same recording, or most of the same recording with some touch-ups, or what. Haven't listened closely to the two versions side-by-side. Glad I dusted this off! There's some good stuff in here I'd forgotten about.
Lunchboy, you are an ultramega superstar! This is it - that's all she wrote. I'll put up these tracks for sharing as soon as I've stopped celebrating.
ReplyDeleteThank you SO MUCH!
My pleasure! Thanks to *you* for posting all this other stuff -- I've barely had time to make a dent in it, but I'm excited to dig into it all.
ReplyDeleteMy Lord, this is amazing. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteJust a great offering! I probably would have passed out from joy and amazement if I had come across such a wide range of Scott Miller rarities six or seven years ago.
ReplyDeleteI KNOW I have (or to be more accurate HAD) better-preserved versions of some of the DigiNoise stuff. Let's see if I can dig them out (somewhat literally in a pile of mostly unsorted discs).
Thanks as usual.
So sad to hear about Scott Miller. I really admired the guy.
Ace K.
thanks for posting all this good stuff
ReplyDeleteand the spam comments are truly funny
Spam comments? What spam comments?
ReplyDeleteHow do I know that you're not spamming me?
Fuck! just got anton barbeau mailing list and it says Scott miller is >dead<? I came right here, - hollering 'fuck' at the walls wasn't helping. I'm dumbstruck- worst yet was having anton barbeau tellme..
ReplyDeleteI can't curse hard enough. I better go get information. this is not going to turn into a better thing.
It pretty much sucks all the way around. RIP Scott. I guess we never knew how much you were hurting. I feel so so bad for his wife and kids.
ReplyDeleteScott Miller's family is raising funds for scholarships for his daughters. The link is http://www.gofundme.com/2nz0vk (there's also a link on loudfamily.com). [And no, this is not intended as Spam.]
ReplyDeleteNice job, Rushbo.
ReplyDeleteI have a few additional sets of live shows to share in my recent post here:
http://dbs-repercussion.blogspot.com/
Wow! What a post. I thought I had everything that was out there already. Wrong again.
ReplyDeleteI've become a Game Theory obsessive in recent weeks (sadly I only discovered Scott's wonderful music after his passing).
ReplyDeleteI wondered if anyone had MP3s of some of Game Theory's early vinyl-only recordings that didn't make Distortion Of Glory, these being:-

Jules? You there? Go to Powerpopcriminals.blogspot.com You can get there opening the URL on my link and there's also a link to the blog on this page among the list of other blogs. ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I'm on it!

Job done. Thank you so much, Oxy. I was starting to lose hope. You've made my weekend. :-)

Holy moly, what a treasure trove. Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteThe Danceteria show seems to be missing Erica's Word - anyway you could post that track?
Hey Rushbo,
ReplyDeleteI am a huge, huge 10cc fan. And Todd. And a lot of the bands on your list. I am an American living in Scotland.
I've been trying to track down the MP3s or WAVs of the FULL Santa Monica 1975 10cc concert, but so far, I've got two different CDs of the "official" version, and four tracks that everyone seems to have - I'm Not In Love, The Film Of My Love, Art For Art's Sake, and Un Nuit A Paris (which is apparently, really from a Dallas concert).
Your blog talks about this show, and also, the Tower Theatre show, but I don't see the actual MP3s posted on your blog - maybe they never were, it isn't clear.
Do you have these tracks? I love this band, I was lucky enough to see them in 78 for "bloody tourists" (and I'd kill for a copy of THAT show, live in San Diego, with Duncan Mackay on keys - fantastic show!) - I have a lot of Todd live stuff - maybe we could trade - although most of my cassettes aren't digitised, but I can get to the tapes, so maybe we could work something out.
I've never heard "flying junk" live, and I couldn't BELIEVE that they play it - same for Un Nuit A Paris - I could not BELIEVE that they could play that - and play it well.
Please drop me a line at pureambient@yahoo.co.uk, my name is dave - let me know if there is some way I can get these two 1975 concerts.
Thanks
Dave
I am listening to The Loud Family cover The Moody Blues' "The Story In Your Eyes" and having a hard time expressing how happy it's making me.
ReplyDeleteRushbo, don't know if you can help. I've been a long time Loud Family fan but never managed to track down any Game Theory on CD (not an easy thing to do). I missed the news about Scott's death until recently, and the downloads of Game Theory catalogue have gone from the official site. I don't suppose you (or anyone else reading this) could help me out?
ReplyDeleteThank you for making all of this music available. I did post on the Game Theory Christmas tapes here: http://tapewrecks.blogspot.com/2013/12/scott-miller-christmas-for-true.html
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. Amazing post. Happy holidays.....
ReplyDeleteAny chance of a re-up of the Lolita Nation Demos and Lolita Nation PreRelease stuff? Links are dead. Thanks very much.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see you back. Any chance of a re-up? I missed a couple of these way back when. I have Adolescent Embarrassment Fest to offer, should you not have that. Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteHi Edward - sorry this is so late! All the links should work now. Adolescent Embarrassment Fest would be fantastic as I am missing that - if you could send me a D/L link, I'd really appreciate it.
DeleteOh goodness. Please! <3
DeleteI am buried with work right now, but I will send you a link this weekend. Glad to be able to contribute.
DeleteMy original rip was 10 years old and kind of a mess, so I re-did it. I hope you find this to your liking.
Deletehttp://www110.zippyshare.com/v/FrG0nNyO/file.html
BTW, the correct date for the San Francisco 1990 show is 2/1/93, it was the release show for PBRT. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteThe information and the detail were just perfect. I think that your perspective is deep, sandal kulit
ReplyDeleteit’s just well thought out and really fantastic to see someone who knows how to put these thoughts down so well.
